Symantec CEO to Keynote at RSA(R) Conference 2006Symantec Executives to Participate in Panel DiscussionsCUPERTINO, CA, Feb 08, 2006 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX News Network) -- Symantec Corp. (NASDAQ: SYMC) today announced that John W. Thompson,
Symantec's chairman and chief executive officer, will keynote at the
RSA(R) Conference 2006 on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 10 a.m. PT. Other
Symantec speakers include James Socas, senior vice president,
Corporate Development; Lawrence Dietz, senior marketing director; and
Samir Kapuria, principal security strategist. RSA Conference 2006 is
being held Feb. 13-17, at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose,
Calif.
In his keynote, Thompson will discuss how the industry needs to
evolve to protect digital interactions and give customers confidence
in the digital world. A live webcast of the speech will be available

Socas will participate in the panel "Security Exits -- What the Big
Boys are Buying," part of the Business of Security track, on
Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 2 p.m. PT. The panel will discuss recent
purchases by public companies and areas where future company
purchases are likely to take place.
Dietz will participate in two sessions on Wednesday, Feb. 15. At 2
p.m. PT he will present "You are the Target," part of the Hackers and
Threats track, helping security practitioners think like their
adversaries to bolster their own security. At 3:25 p.m. PT, Dietz
will join a panel "Who is Leading the Charge to Secure Consumers
Online: Industry, Government or Both?" part of the Law, Legislation
& Compliance track. The panel will explore necessary steps to
protect consumers.
Kapuria is scheduled to present "Security Solutions: Managing Risk,"
part of the Security Solutions track, on Thursday, Feb. 16, at 3:25
p.m. PT. This session will explore how to create an effective risk
management program while sustaining a flexible infrastructure,
focusing on identification, assessment, development,
compartmentalization, and management.
