Newmont Appoints PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP As Its Independent Public Accountants
DENVER, May 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Newmont Mining Corporation
(NYSE: NEM; ASX) (Toronto: NMC) today announced that its board of directors
has retained PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP as the company's independent public
accountants.
The audit committee of the board of directors conducted an in-depth review
of the services provided by the major public accounting firms prior to making
its recommendation to the board.
Previously, Newmont's independent auditor was Arthur Andersen LLP. "We
thank Arthur Andersen for their years of service as our external auditors and
commend its staff for consistently providing independent, high-quality work,"
said Newmont Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Bruce Hansen.
