FPL Crews Tackle Hardest Hit Areas; Restoration Work 97 Percent Completed MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 15, 2004--As the number of Florida
Power & Light Company customers left without power by Hurricane
Frances dropped to 87,800, restoration crews today continue their
steady advance in the hardest hit areas. Hurricane Frances will be
remembered as the storm that produced thousands of outages throughout
FPL's entire service territory and cut off power to 2.8 million FPL
customers.
Work in the following North and Central Florida counties has now
been completed or is expected to be completed by end of day Wednesday,
September 15, 2004:
Alachua
Baker
Bradford
Clay
Columbia
Flagler
Nassau
Putnam
Seminole
St. Johns
Suwannee

Volusia
In addition, work will be completed today from the City of Boynton
Beach south to the Broward County Line.
FPL is asking customers in these counties and Boynton Beach south
to the Broward County Line to call 1-800-4-OUTAGE, today if their
neighborhood has power, but their home or business does not. These
customers will be able to report their outage through FPL's automated
phone service. The company wants to hear from these customers, since
their power restoration issue may be a more localized problem. While
they may have already called in to report their outage, the problem
with their service may not be apparent until after their neighborhood
has power restored. The company will make every effort to reach out to
them and resolve their electric issue. FPL crews will continue to work
with these customers until their service is restored.
For the following counties, estimated time of restoration remains
