Jones Apparel Group Announces Appointment of Anliza Mak to President-Jones International, Ltd.

NEW YORK, Aug. 31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Jones Apparel Group, Inc. (NYSE: JNY) today announced the appointment of Anliza Mak to President-Jones International, Ltd. effective October 27, 2006.

Ms. Mak is a seasoned executive with Jones Apparel Group and resides in Hong Kong. Ms. Mak was actively involved in the formation of Jones International, Ltd. and has a deep and thorough understanding of apparel sourcing. Ms. Mak will succeed Sam Tang, who will be pursuing other interests outside of the Company.

Lynne Cote, CEO-Wholesale Sportswear, Suits and Dresses, stated, "Anliza is a recognized leader in the organization with strong management, production, and quality control skills. She will be an integral part of realigning the role and responsibility of Jones International, Ltd. with a vision of reducing production lead times and increasing Jones Apparel Group's speed to market capabilities."
