and February bring something many Americans dread: tax time. As
taxpayers start receiving W-2s, collecting receipts and organizing
tax documents, confusion often sets in. To help, H&R Block (NYSE:
HRB) has assembled a 1,000-member team of tax professionals to
answer tax questions for free online.
"After more than 50 years preparing taxes, H&R Block knows that when
it comes to taxes, people have questions. Lots and lots of questions,"
said Robert Turtledove, chief marketing officer for H&R Block. "By
offering easy access to answers, H&R Block hopes to reduce confusion
and give people confidence that they are getting their taxes done
right."
This free service is available to assist people during tax season
with the quick answers and accurate direction they need. More than
43,000 answers have already been provided in response to consumer
questions. And, knowing people are bound to have tax-related issues
like a move, job change or birth of a child after April 15, the H&R
Block service will be available year-round so tax questions can be
addressed when they happen.
The Get It Right(SM) Community hosts the service and leverages the
expertise of H&R Block tax professionals nationwide. Responding tax
professionals represent a breadth of expertise and are committed to
providing answers in plain English to avoid further confusing
consumers with tax jargon. Questions can be submitted via computer or
iPhone through the H&R Block Tax Answers App. Most will be answered
within 24 hours. Tax calculators, an office locator and access to
useful widgets and other tax preparation tools are also available
through the Get It Right(SM) Community.
"Our goal is to reduce confusion and help taxpayers make the most of
the deductions and credits available to them. Whether that's done by
sharing our expertise on a tax question, through our H&R Block At
Home(TM) online and software products, or in one of our more than
11,000 offices nationwide -- that's why we're here," Turtledove said.
